Just across the Potomac River from Washington is Arlington, Virginia. They had their own brewery from 1890-1916, the Arlington Brewery.
Alexandria Virginia (also just across the river) was home to the large Robert Portner Brewery from 1861-1916. Here is a link to a local government page on an archeological survey of the site of the old brewery. (opens a pdf file)
